South Central Ambulance Service

This week we were on site in Southampton working with a new client, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. We were contacted by the Air Ambulance Organisation a few months ago and asked if we could spend a week with them documenting the work that they do both through their HEMs based helicopter and Rapid Response vehicles and also with the onsite training that they do on a regular basis with other agencies such as the paramedics and doctors from South Central Ambulance Service NHS and University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

NHS staff training exercise.

Tim - "The most important element to the work that Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance do is the people themselves, highly trained Paramedics and Doctors that work tirelessly to provide the very best care possible for critically ill patients. The teams can be called out at a moment's notice to deal with any emergency incident ranging from heart attack through to a major traffic RTC and as such the team train together on a regular basis that covers many differing situations so that they have the ability to be prepared for literally any situation in any type of location. I was very honoured to spend time with the teams over the course of a few days recently to document the training work that they undertake together, and capture some rare behind the scenes images of the Paramedics and Doctors running through several differing scenarios. The work produced will be utilised by both Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and South Central Ambulance Service to raise awareness of their commitment and work to offer the best possible care in sometimes the worst possible situations."
