FujiHolics UK Seminars Announced

We are thrilled to announce a new suite of UK based seminars from Commercial Photographer Tim Wallace sponsored through our friends at FujiHolics
In 2016 Tim held a number of training seminars with FujiHolics and these were very well received indeed by all that attended. Tim normally talks in the US at events such as Photoshop World in Florida but was really keen to return on to the FujiHolics team for 2017 to hold a further suite of training workshops and seminars that cover such subjects as lighting, post edit work and also commercial business advice and that would all be based in the UK.

This class is based around how you effectively put together a body of work to approach the market professionally. It will take an in-depth look at what it really takes to build and effective portfolio. How we do that and the choices and decisions that we have to make along that journey as well as how that is presented, where that is presented and how to make it work for you better than just a collection of your best images. This is not just a talk about ‘portfolio’s’ this is a seminar on how to not only create that but also how you then use that to gain commissions. The session will also talk about licensing and copyright. Many people are really unaware of this and it is a crucial element to understand as a working professional in the commercial sectors.

This class is firmly aimed at those that perhaps are not totally sure of how to achieve the images that they practising shooting as well as those that would just like some good advice on which equipment could be best for them for what they would like to shoot. The class will cover a whole broad range of subjects from equipment to how we can work with light and make it do what we want it to do so that we can create great images and build up on those lessons learned and grow as photographers.
All levels are welcome and no question is too silly in this class that Tim has specifically put together so that he can help share his knowledge of light and build an awareness for those attending that if we really start to ‘understand’ light then we often find that lighting, good lighting, is not really as difficult as we may have first thought.

The seminar will help you to look at how to start making the right informed choices, the questions that you need to ask yourself, and how to set a clear vision for your own path to success rather than just 'hope' things work out for you. You will learn how to think laterally about your brand and direction, style of work and industry sector and how those differ and demand different approaches. Tim will look at how to approach agencies and how to effectively make those first steps and approaches to clients. And most of all and utterly crucially it will be about understanding your position better within the field and how to put yourself and your work across in such a way that your clients understand your benefits to them and not just that you can take nice pictures. It is about becoming a monster in your industry and creating a need for what you do and not just sitting there and waiting for the phone to ring.

RAW imagination - Photoshop Class | Tim Wallace

In this workshop Tim will be working through different PS based controls that he uses in his own personal retouching.
We will be looking at tone, its importance, as well as contrast, and colour.
The importance of having a final image and style in mind and how we approach that as well as how Tim use’s PS in his own personal way as digital darkroom drawing on his knowledge and past experience as a film and photographic printer.
How do we build and create a commercial image, what is important to remember, what tools are there that can help us with our work and how do we make sense of things so that we can take consistent steps forward.
We will look at clipping paths, their importance as well as blending effectively and the importance of understanding colour and contrast. What we do in PS starts when we are stood behind the camera before we even make a capture so understanding where we intend to take this in the processing stage means that we can shoot more efficiently and with better results.
