Firestone California

Article text
During our recent work in California we did some work shooting the famous American 'Firestone' brand. The Firestone Tire and Rubber Company is an American tire company founded by Harvey Firestone in 1900 to supply pneumatic tires for wagons and other forms of wheeled transportation common in the era. Firestone soon saw the huge potential for marketing tires for automobiles. The company was a pioneer in the mass production of tires. Harvey Firestone had a friendship with Henry Ford. Firestone used this relationship to become the original equipment supplier of Ford Motor Company automobiles and the rest as they say 'is history' with a turnover today of over $2 billion dollars annually.

This photograph is one of a set of work produced by car photographer Tim Wallace and was shot on location in San Francisco, California.

Tim - "Firestone is a great American brand and famous throughout the World today and producing one image that bring together both some of the companies heritage and roots was a challenge to some degree but we found this original Firestone neon signage just outside San Francisco that for me really encapsulated the brand and with the use also of the all american classic Chevrolet it brought things together for a dramatic image"
